BitClout is the Crypto Startup Selling ‘Shares’ in Celebs Without Their Permission

Celebrities on jumping on board NFTs to sell non-fungible tokens of their work.  Conversely, BitClout is selling shares of these celebrities themselves. BitClout claims they’re a “new type of social network.”

According to Coindesk, “BitClout generates social tokens (like Roll or Rally), which represent actual people. Those social tokens’ supplies are controlled by automated market makers (like Uniswap or Curve), though one governed by a bonding curve that explicitly ratchets up the value as more tokens get minted.” Therefore, the value fluctuates with the person’s pop culture relevance with an emphasis on social-media clout.

For example, Elon Musk has the most expensive BitClout coin at $67,000. Ariana Grande is currently valued at $25,000.

So far, nearly a quarter-billion dollars has been invested in BitClout.
